Care Instructions and Cleaning!

Here are some useful tips for keeping your Hulken in good shape for the long run:

  • The transparent covering on the handles should not be removed.
  • Make sure not to overload the bag: 15 kg (33 lb) for the Small Hulken, and 30 kg (66 lb) for the Medium and Large, max. 
  • Load the bag by distributing the weight evenly on all sides as much as possible.
  • Keep away from heaters and radiators.
  • To preserve the quality and appearance of this product, please keep it away from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight when in storage.
  • Be careful of sharp edges that may be present inside the bag due to the nature of the industrial materials used to make the bag.
  • If you'd like to clean the Hulken: You can wash your Hulken gently by hand, with warm water and a sponge. We do not recommend putting your Hulken in a washing machine. To sanitize it, wipe all surfaces, handles, and wheels with a disinfecting wipe (such as Clorox).  
  • Your Hulken will naturally fold in one direction only. Always fold it with the pull handle on your right-hand side, so it folds correctly. Folding it in any other way may damage it. Watch the how-to on our Hulken Tips page.

Keep your Hulken in good shape for the long term by folding it in between uses. There's only one way to fold it as shown on our Tips page. Make sure the front pull handle is to your right-hand side. Folding your Hulken properly is crucial to maintain its shape and ensure a long-lasting experience! Folding your Hulken in any other way may damage it. 


You can wash your Hulken gently by hand with warm water and a sponge. Do not put your Hulken in a washing machine. 

To sanitize it, wipe all surfaces, handles, and wheels with a disinfecting wipe (such as Clorox) - this should not affect the bag's quality. Alternatively, the wheels can be sprayed with a disinfectant (such as Lysol).

Clear debris and dirt using a butter knife or screwdriver tip, and use tweezers to remove any hair or dirt from the caster shaft. For smooth operation, lubricate the caster, taking care not to spray the wheel face that contacts the floor. Finally, use a clean lint-free cloth to wipe off any excess lubricant.

Use Cases

Hulken performs well on dry grassy surfaces. Here's a video of the Hulken rolling on grass.

Hulken rolls on ice or shallow snow. Note that due to the height of the wheels (1.7") Hulken is not intended for use under heavy snow conditions.

Hulken bags are designed with compactness and reliability in mind, rather than stair-climbing capabilities. While the handles may offer some help, the smaller wheels may make it challenging to pull the bag upstairs alone. If you need to pull your luggage upstairs regularly, a bag with larger wheels may be a better choice.

Avoid putting any living creature inside the Hulken. That includes dogs, cats, and of course, humans. The Hulken is not designed for carrying animals or people and it could not only damage the Hulken but also cause serious injury if misused for that purpose.

Yes. Hulken is California Prop65 compliant and certified non-toxic food grade under European Union standards.

While the Hulken is a great travel companion, we don't recommend using the Hulken bag as checked-in luggage as the fabric may be damaged during transportation.

The small Hulken can work well as a carry-on on many flights, it generally meets the dimensions for most airlines. However, confirming with your airline before your flight is always a good idea, as size allowances can vary.

The Hulken in medium size is great to help schlep things around the airport but you'd need to empty it and fold it to fit under the seat/overhead, since both Medium and Large are bigger than the standard size allowed in most airlines.

Large is absolutely MASSIVE.
It’s perfect if you lug a lot of sizable items. Recommended for home organizers, interior designers, musicians, and other pros that schlep large items.

The Small Hulken Bag's weight capacity is 15 kilos (33 lb), while the Medium and Large Hulken Bags can hold up to 30 kilos (66 lb).

No, Hulken is not made of insulated materials. 

Yes. Hulken is water resistant which means that water should not have any effect on the quality of the bag. However, Hulken is not waterproof and is not meant to be filled with any kind of liquid.

Hulken is made of polypropylene with iron steel wheels.

Yes. Hulken is built to last for a long time. Made of very strong industrial materials and wheels made of steel, Hulken was designed with rigorous industrial research and trials. Wear and tear may occur over time, especially if loading the Hulken frequently with heavy loads.

Yes. Hulken has a zipped top cover.

Hulken has long, solid handles that make pulling it very easy. The side handles are 14" long and the front (pull) handle is 16" long. For example: the model holding the large Hulken in the photo below is 5'9 tall. See photo

Yes. Some of our Hulkens have a black top stitch, while others match the fabric color. As we continually improve our designs, some elements may differ slightly from the product photos on our website.

Hulkens are made in Hungary. 

Order Management

Once your order has been processed by our fulfillment team, you will receive a confirmation email with your order details and tracking info. Alternatively, you can use our Track My Order feature on our FAQs page.

The tracking status may not be immediately available after your order is placed. It can take up to 2 business days for the number to become active in our system. If you don't see any updates right away, please be patient and check back later.


Orders are processed right away and there’s a good chance we’re not able to modify it. You can try emailing our team at hello@hulken.com within 2 hours of placing your order and we'll try our best to update it.

Make sure you're being specific about the change (color, size, address, etc.)

If your order has already been processed or shipped, you can always exchange it through our European return portal once it’s delivered: https://hulken.return-order.com/ 

Orders are processed right away and there’s a good chance we’re not able to cancel it. Please email our team at hello@hulken.com with your cancellation request as soon as possible. Remember to include your order number and the reason for cancellation in your message.

Where in Europe? Germany, France, Belgium, Denmark, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Netherlands, Austria, Greece, Ireland, and Hungary.

Orders are processed and dispatched within 1-2 business days.

Shipping time in Germany: 3-5 business days.
Shipping time international: 5-8 business days.

Please note that the delivery time may be affected by weather conditions and during peak season. We will always try our best to deliver your order safely and in a timely manner.

There are times that tracking shows delivered, but it doesn't get dropped off until the next day or so. It is also possible that the package was left at a neighbor's house, moved by someone in your household, or left in a secure location by the delivery service. We recommend checking with neighbors, family members, and/or your local post office to obtain more info.

If 10 days have elapsed and you haven't received your Hulken, please email us at hello@hulken.com and we'll check in with the delivery service, initiate a lost package claim, and explore the best options to resolve the issue.

Changes are not guaranteed as your order may already be in production. However, please email us at hello@hulken.com with your order number and updated shipping address; we will do our best to assist.

Note: Once an order has been shipped we are unable to make any changes. 

To sign up for notifications when an item is back in stock, please visit the product page of the Hulken you're interested in. If the item is out of stock, you'll see an option to "Notify Me When Available".  

Click on that button, and you'll be prompted to enter your email address. Please add your email and click on the button to be notified.

  1. Email Your Certificate: Send your business VAT certificate to our team at hello@hulken.com with the subject line ‘VAT exemption’.
  2. Wait for Confirmation: Once we receive your VAT exemption certificate, we will review it and verify your eligibility. We will notify you via email once your account has been updated to reflect your VAT-exempt status.
  3. Log In to Your Account: https://account.hulken.eu/
  4. Sign In: After receiving confirmation, log in to your Hulken account using your credentials.
  5. Place VAT-Exempt Orders: Once logged in, you can begin placing orders without VAT being added to your purchases.

Returns & Exchanges

Try Hulken on your next schlep and make sure it's right for you—if not, you can return or exchange it anytime within the first 30 days of shipping.

Your refund will go back to the original method of payment used to make the purchase unless you choose a store credit with a bonus. We usually process returns quickly, but just in case, please allow up to 14 business days from when we receive the items for your account to be refunded.

Only items purchased on hulkenbag.com are eligible for return or exchange. 

Here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Our return and exchange policy lasts 30 days. The return window begins when the order is shipped.
  • Shipping fees are non-refundable.
  • We cannot accept returns or exchanges for items purchased from other retailers or platforms.
  • Returns and exchanges will only be accepted if the item is in good condition and folded in the same way it was received (see our Tips page to learn how)
  • Folding the bag to fit in a smaller shipping box will damage the bag and won't be eligible for an exchange or refund.
  • Orders are eligible for one exchange only within the policy's 30-day timeframe.
  • Discounts can't be applied on exchanges, only on the original order.
  • All returns must get prior authorization through our return portal. Orders that are returned to us without prior authorization won't be eligible for an exchange or refund and can be sent back to the customer at the customer's expense. All returns must be sent to our warehouse with a return label provided by Hulken.


Damages & Defects

Please inspect all shipments immediately upon arrival. If your shipment was damaged in transit you agree to contact hello@hulken.com within 5 days of receipt of damaged or defective shipments. Any problems must be reported by email with photographs of the damaged goods- you cannot return goods until you have received a written authorization from us. Goods sent back without prior authorization will not be credited to your account. Damaged merchandise returned to us will be replaced with new merchandise. Returned merchandise will not be accepted if it is held for more than 7 days after receipt.


Additional information

Refunds
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you regarding your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 14 business days.

Late or missing refunds
If you think your refund is late please let us know at: hello@hulken.com. Keep in mind that it may take some time before your refund is officially posted in your account as there is often some processing time before a refund is posted.


Discounted Bulk Orders

All discounted bulk orders are final and are not eligible for returns or exchanges. Please contact us at hello@hulken.com if you have any questions.

Bulk order return requests (due to buyer’s remorse) must be made in writing to hello@hulken.com within 7 days of delivery date, quoting invoice number and reasons for return. No returns are acceptable without our prior approval. You will incur all shipping charges for the return including a 15% restocking fee from the total value of the order.

Yes, you can exchange your Hulken for a different color or size within 30 days of purchase.

To be eligible for a refund or exchange, item(s) must be returned in their original condition, folded in the same way it was received (see our Tips page to learn how), and in the original plastic packaging. Folding your Hulken to fit in a smaller shipping box will damage the bag, and with this, it will no longer be eligible for returns or exchanges.

Exchange a Gift

You can easily exchange your gifted Hulken through our Return Portal. You will need the tracking number (found on the original shipping label) and shopping postal code. If you don't have that info, don't worry! You can email our Hulken team at hello@hulken.com
